A kilo of cocaine washed ashore near Jetty Park Monday morning, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they found the single brick at about 7 a.m., and tests indicated that it was cocaine.

Video shows the kilo appeared to be wrapped in a black plastic-type substance.

Authorities said they don’t know how the drugs ended up on the beach.

Tod Goodyear, with the Sheriff’s Office, said there was “no indication from our narcotics people yet on the possible origin.”

Port Canaveral said a city of Cape Canaveral employee discovered the cocaine.

A woman on the beach Monday looking for seashells said she would be shocked if she found the drugs.

"I wouldn't think that would be laying around on the beach," Sheila Hall said.

Recently, it also happened in Cocoa Beach just a few miles away.

Around the time of Hurricane Dorian, Cocoa Beach police said kilos of cocaine washed up.

The street value was at least $300,000.

The Sheriff’s Office said Monday’s one kilo is worth about $30,000. Now if you remember Ron Jon Surfshop owner had interesting past with drug smuggling.

“It’s a moneymaker for somebody, so somebody needs to get the drugs here for consumption, unfortunately,” beachgoer Frank Hendrickson said.
